Le Bureau d'information de guerre qui sera créé en juin 1942, a pour fonction de promouvoir aux Etats Unis et à l'étranger, la situation de l'Amérique dans sa politique de guerre, des progrès de l'effort de guerre et des objectifs du gouvernement. Les affiches de cette collection sont principalement utilisées pour rallier le public à la cause des Etats Unis, en rappelant notamment, les atrocités ennemies et les victoires remportées par les militaires.
